what is twitter?

Twitter is a social media website that specializes in microblogging. It is very similar to facebook updates yet it is much more powerful.

Getting started.... log on to http://twitter.com and click on the get started-join button.

Next you will be prompted to create a username, password, provide a email address. (make sure you have permission from your parents)

The next page will allow you to let twitter search the contacts in address book of the email address you previously provided and search to see if any of them have twitter accounts. (you can click a button on the bottom of the page to skip this step if you want)

The next page will show you a list of some people already on twitter and give you the option to get follow any of them. click finish to continue.

Twitter allows you to get updates on the webpage or if there is someone that you really want to hear their updates right away you can follow them via sms (text message). For this you will need to click on settings, then devices, and provide your cell phone number (again make sure you have your parents permission). Once you agree to the terms, click enter and a message will appear telling you to send a text to 40404. It should be six or seven letters. Send the text and your phone is ready to receive txts.

Now it is time to follow people. Click on the Find People button and enter either lchsenglish2 or lchsenglish2h. Don't click on follow just yet. Click on the either lchsenglish2 or lchsenglish2h, whichever you searched for. This should take you to a different page. under the name and icon will be a follow button, click here to follow. It should then say following and if you chose to have mobile update you will here have the option to activate them. click on device update off and enable them there.
